3 Days 2 nights @ JB Legoland, Hello Kitty & Little Big Club

5 of us booked a theme park package with WTS. Package includes accommodation , theme park tickets ( Legoland , water theme park , Hello Kitty, The little big club) and transport . This trip was fully sponsored by my brother .

The trip started off at the Singapore flyer pick up point . We picked up the tickets from the WTS agency at 9am, bus departed at 9.30am. It's a smooth ride via 2nd link , surprisingly there was no crowd at the check point . For those who booked the day trip or 2 days 1 night package , legoland was their first stop . We had made special arrangement to check in to hotel on the first day ( visited Hello Kitty etc ) and Legoland on 2nd day. I must mention that we were pleased with WTS efficient service , the coach was much more comfortable than 5 stars , instructions was clear and there was no delay . At around 11.30am, we reached our hotel , selected trader hotel because it's just next to Hello Kitty Land.
At the hotel reception
Traders managed to give us early check in to 1 of the rooms . We requested for connecting rooms on the spot and they acceded to our request . They also gave us late check out . The harbour view at traders was awesome ( extra 50 RM per night we did not go for that great view , ours faced Hello Kitty Land.
Great view
Our rooms
Skydeck swimming pool
Traders international buffet breakfast was superb , the spread was good , minus point was the place was crowded at breakfast time. Traders' facilities - the sky deck pool and gym are well maintained partly because this is a rather new hotel , operating less than a year. There is a lot of construction going on around the hotel , other than visiting the theme parks , there is nothing much to do .

Took this photo before treasure hunt

After lunch at Kenny Roger, we went to Hello Kitty and The little big clubs . The 2 girls dislike taking pictures so I ended up taking candid shots . Though I am not a Hello Kitty lover but being in that environment I can't leave without taking pictures . We also played a little treasure hunt game where the 2 girls were given a lamp to search for a 5 letters word. They had to form a word using the 5 letters , a certificate will be given for the correct word form . Tong got an A on her certificate while Jing got a B, the grade was determined by the time spent in figuring out the word . Tong went to help Jing after she has found her word . We played some kiddy rides in the theme park before going for dinner at the Lat's place.

Day 2
Traders provided free shuttle to Legoland . You need to book early due to the high demand . Initially we booked the 11.30am slot but later decided to take a cab ( about 20 RM) as we wanted to go there earlier . Legoland opens at 10 am closes at 6pm. While water theme park closes at 4pm. By right we ought to visit the water theme park first but unfortunately we were not awared of the timing at that time . Legoland hotel is right in front of Legoland theme park . The whole building is so colorful and there are many different theme park designs in the rooms.

We tried out almost all the rides , due to the short waiting time we went for the 2nd round . Waiting time was between 5 to 10 mins. The most scary ride was the Dragon roller coaster ride ( Lego kingdom ),  we or rather me and Tong screamed all the way . Though scary, we still went for a 2nd round. Another popular ride was the boat ride ( Land of adventure ), we were all wet after the slide and water splashed all over. Luckily we were in our swim suits. Mum tried out 2 of the rides , beetle bounce and lost adventure kingdom.

Miniland is my favourite area in the theme park. Legos are used to construct buildings to represent different countries, for example Twin towers for Kuala Lumpur, Flyer and Clarke Quay for Singapore.

We had pizza for lunch and it started to drizzle . Of course we continued playing and purchased a few photos and 2 key chains. We went to water theme park at about 3pm. Went for a water float tour and 2 slides then it started to rain heavily ! We waited for sometime for the rain to stop. The staff got all to leave the water due to lightning alert . There were too few sheltered areas at water theme park , as a results many got to take shelter in the changing room area. It continued to rain and we decided to go back at 4pm plus .

Day 3
We spent our morning swimming and hanging around the habour after breakfast. The coach picked us at 5pm and we returned to Singapore via 2nd Link at 6pm.

Shape Run 2013

After much consideration, I have signed up for the 5 km Shape Run with A. Initially the run was in July but was postponed to 27 Oct due to the haze.  As it was my 1st run, I have planned to train for it, start with 2.4 km, then to 3 km , slowly increase to 4 km and finally 5 km. Unfortunately I was overwhelmed with work ( good excuse ) and my training stopped at 3 km, just a few days before the run.  Somehow I seem to think that miracle will happen and I can complete my run easily.

The night before the race, I started to pray for the rain, secretly hoping that the run will be cancelled. ZH told me he can grant my wish by switching off my alarm.
10 km starts at 6.30am, 5 km at 7am

On the morning, the weather was cooling. The event was well organised  bag deposit service was available. There were more than enough mobile toilets and the area was spacious. We took photos before the run.

Before the run
A was telling me before the run that she will be walking, so hearing this made me feel less stressful, in fact I was thinking should I wait for A if she starts walking.  This turned out to be a joke ! A is much taller than me, being a shorty is really at a disadvantage when it comes to long distance running. 1 step made by A is equivalent to my 3 steps !
Warm up before starting
After the 1st km, A was already ahead of me, I continued to run till 2 km . I thought I will not stop running due to peer pressure and the many photographers around. To my surprise, I stopped at the 2km drink station to take a sip.  After drinking I continued to run, trying to catch up with A, of course I failed to do so. But the catching up spirit is always in my mind, at 3 km I stopped again and the pacers overtook me. I continued to search for A and thinking where should I stop and walk again. So at 4 km I stopped again and was hoping to see the U-turn back to the finishing point.

At last I reached the finishing point , behind the pacers, exactly 37 min. I was rather surprised ( due to my low expectation ) , I thought I will take longer as I stopped for at least 3 times to walk . I got my finisher’s medal and went searching for A.
The medal and my number tag
It was a pleasant experience. We have decided to sign up for 2 runs next year and 4 runs in 2015. Our target distance is 10 km. MP who is going to be my Minton neighbour said she wanted to join me for the run, sigh I better start training now to prepare for the runs with both of them.

Another Minton Update

For the past 2 weekends ( in August ), we had been to Minton again. Today, we saw many workers  working on the spa and gym . A worker was also seen in the units doing final touch up. I must say the updates by my fellow neighbours on the Minton Facebook are very useful. They have been taking photos regularly and some even have insider information on TOP dates and other details. Hopefully we can start collecting the keys in mid September , hopefully......

These are some pictures I have taken over the last 2 visits.

Our unit is somewhere above the gym and spa
( at first the bright red looks horrible but has been changed to reddish brown )

I like the ground floor unit greenery, reminds me of putting green.

Day 2 : Tioman Berjaya Golf

On the second day, 3 of us went for our 18 holes early in the morning. Not much green information was provided on the website, except the cost. Green fee for 18 holes : 113 RM on weekends, buggy : 70 RM. We started at around 8am plus, only managed to complete 9 holes at 12 noon. It was a challenging course , we spent quite a bit of time searching for lost balls. The course is narrow , there are many water zones and some of the tee off are on the uphill. The first 9 holes are Ocean course. After a quick lunch, we continued with the remaining 9 holes on the forest course. The forest course is much easier as compared to the Ocean course. My performance was worse than Ria Bintan !
