Last night, we celebrated grandma's birthday. As usual we had yummy mango cake from emicakes ( must be grandma's fav as we have it every year). This year they ordered buffet for 25 people( that is the minimum) though we have less than 20 people, so you can imagine how much left over we had.
Sometimes I feel very guilty for not spending enough time with my inlaws. We were late ( as usual ) for dinner, mum inlaw had to call us and we were still at home ! Its all Mr Sim's fault! Once we reached there, we were busy watching Dvds. I was addicated to the cantonese drama. When I found out that the Dvds belonged to his aunties, I was so excited. My dad inlaw said he will come and get the Dvds from them whenever I wanted to watch. There were lots of food and 1 of it was cereal prawns. My dad inlaw immediately said that is my fav food, followed by my mum inlaw. I was scratching my head till Mr Sim said that they remembered that because I had lots of cereal during one of the gatherings long long ago. So long that I can't remember.
When I was reading Yun's and Qun's blog on their reno, I can't remember making so many trips to my house. Think I only went down less than 5 times. Everything was in place, all thanks to my dad inlaw, he painted our house and went down regularly to conduct spot checks.
Whenever my inlaws come to our place for dinner, they will not stay for long. Even when we go shopping, they will state a certain time to meet at the entrance as they know we might not want to follow them around. Mr Sim's younger brother and cousins are all promoted to Dad and Mum. I know they hope to see me getting pregnant but they never ever say a single word. ( though all those aunties are already asking me this qn: when are you giving birth huh??? )
Both my inlaws are very caring and understanding. But we seldom spend time with them...sigh...I always reinforce the importance of filial piety to my boys, yet I fail to role model. We must make a point to visit them as regularly as possible ( we used to visit them only once a month).
