CuP CaKes




Yesterday I made 2 steamed cup cakes, namely the egg and coffee cup cakes. According to the recipes, other than the addition of coffee powder, the main difference is for the egg cup cakes, I had to add in baking powder, which made it softer. Whereas for the coffee flavour, its official name is " kopi lapis kuih". ( Previously I tried before but I did not steam using a cup. )As usual I tried to be more daring so I added in chocolate powder to the egg cup cake. However, from the photos, the egg and chocolate cup cakes looked more like bao. Sigh...I prefer the egg to the coffee but hubby prefer the coffee. I brought the cakes to my aunt's place. Though the response was not encouraging but I am not really bothered. *thick-skinned* I guessed its because I enjoyed the making process and for a 1st timer, its a good attempt. Hahaahaha...The cakes tasted better when they were just removed from the steamer. So by the time my relatives plucked up the courage to be the guinea pigs , it already hours after I have steamed it. I must show my appreciation to Qun's hubby-to-be, he willingly tried both cakes without much hesitation.Thanks for your support!
